📢 Announcement
What’s changing?
Sentry Management is transitioning our endpoint security software from SentinelOne to CrowdStrike Falcon. This change is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen security while minimizing impact to your day-to-day work.
When will this happen?
The change will occur automatically on your computer during the scheduled rollout window. No action is required from you.
What You Need to Know
No Action Required
- The CrowdStrike Falcon sensor will be installed automatically via Microsoft Intune.
- SentinelOne will be removed as part of the process.
- You do not need to install anything or click any prompts.
Minimal Impact
- You may briefly see a notification indicating new security software has been installed.
- A system restart is not typically required, but if prompted, please save your work and restart when convenient.
What You Might See
- Occasional security notifications if suspicious activity is detected.
- These alerts are informational—CrowdStrike works silently in the background and automatically blocks threats.
How This Affects You
- Day-to-day work (email, applications, internet access) will continue as normal.
- If CrowdStrike blocks or flags something you believe is legitimate, contact IT rather than attempting to bypass it.
Why We’re Making This Change
CrowdStrike Falcon provides:
- Advanced, behavior-based threat protection
- Faster detection and response to security threats
- Improved overall protection of company and client data
This aligns with current security best practices and helps keep our environment secure.
System Tool Tray Update
Currently your system try contains the SentinelOne icon (see below)
Once CrowdStrike is installed you will see their icon
Falcon “Sensor Status” tray icon for Windows
- The icon appears in the system tray, often under Show hidden icons (^)
- It shows sensor health and connection status only
- It does not allow users to pause, disable, or manage protection
NOTE: CrowdStrike deliberately keeps end‑user pop‑ups minimal and non-technical.
Clicking this icon, the following CrowdStrike window will appear.
This window will display basic information, such as Status, Version and Computer name.
